Please fill out this form when requesting an Echo, then post it to this entry. The request will be dealt with as soon as possible.

When requesting an Echo induced by a past-life parallel/recurrence, please demonstrate clearly the similarity between the events, as well as the relation between the events and what is returned.

Please keep in mind that any echo must be triggered by experiencing something for the first time (unless it is a plot echo) and that recurrence echoes may not be gained off-screen: At least the initial trigger must take place in a thread or toplevel. In addition, we always want to hear the answer to three questions: 1. What was echoed? (under "What is returned?"), 2. What triggered the echo? (under "Reason for Echo"), and in case of recurrence echoes 3. Why did it trigger the echo (parallel)? (under "What is returned?").

Reason for Echo: On half term from school, Nel was sent home with a special assignment to assist in learning about climate and ecosystems. After building it in class, Nel took home her 2-Liter bottle terrarium to care for and watch the seeds sprout and grow.
What is returned: Nel may have assisted in gardens previously, but she has never been the sole caretaker of plant life before, as the way Spring Sprite looked after an entire forest range. Seeing the sprouts upon waking one morning will be the specific trigger knowing she helped them come to be. As such, I would like to give Nel access to her plant growing abilities. As she does not have much magic right now, she will have limited capability to begin with but will be able to increase it over time. Beginning with this Echo, she can learn templates of plants through skin to plant contact that are necessary to create a plant from nothing. Each time she creates or helps plants grow with this power, she will be exercising her magic and thus increasing her capacity slightly. For example, if she makes a flower, the next time she can make two. Every time she exahusts this capacity, she has to sleep for an hour to regain access. Additionally, ambient magic will be available only for plants that spend significant time right next to her. As such, the sprouts will grow faster every night the terrarium sits on her bedside table, or a patch of grass she lounges on for more than half an hour will be taller and brighter green.

What if I wrote up a log post detailing making the terrarium in class to bring home and then the piece about her waking up to the sprouts during the half term week?

As long as there's a thread/open toplevel that includes the trigger for the echo, it's fine.

Reason for Echo: Standing at a crime scene (a desecrated graveyard) together with someone else and talking about that they should leave quickly, before the police comes, and feeling that what she wanted to do (=look at all the skeletons) had been accomplished.
What is returned: The padded (=armoured) coat made to let her blend into dark or dimly lit patches that she always wore on runs. Thus she also always wore it when her team had similar discussions regarding that it would be better to leave now that they were done with their task before security/the police/etc showed up.

Are you using a Double Echo Token? Nope.
Reason for Echo: Seeing his wife's bones on her grave. In canon he had to empty out the funeral urn of a queen Raksura in order to bring the body of a friend home in the urn-- not his queen, but as Amy is an in-world stand in for his queen Azure, and he hasn't had any real experience with the clean skeletons of people he cares about in his life, I think it's a close enough comparison!
What is returned: The memory of emptying out that urn of the bones of its former occupant, and fitting a small, old, pure-white-colored Arbora woman inside instead. Comes with some grief, for the Arbora (named Flower), and regret, for his queen (named Azure) being buried at the "old colony" who will never see the colony tree. It lasts until he hefts the urn up again (it's about 2/3 as tall as he is, but he can still carry it easily) and shifts into his winged form to leave for "the iron ship". That one doesn't have any context except relief.

Reason for Echo: Plot-related, the NPC escaping in the bomb-area thread!
What is returned: Stone's ability to GROWL has returned! Not only can he make a very realistic (somewhat lion-like) growling noise when annoyed or angry or just trying to scare somebody, it's so low and deep that it can make the ground vibrate a little, as if it's being made by a much larger creature.

Reason for Echo: Plot Echo!
What is returned: Russell gains the memory of talking on the phone with a quiet friend, telling them about how he solves puzzles. He also gains a rough grasp of Papyrus' blue soul magic, giving him some ability to manipulate gravity and momentum, starting with on himself.

If it makes sense to limit his ability to slightly less obvious jumping, and to keep it so he's only figured out how to affect his own soul with it, I'm good with that.

If you ever want him to figure out how to affect other souls with it, you'll need to ask the other players before using it on their characters, but there's no reason why he shouldn't figure that out, too.
