You write that Runar is not quick to put himself down and doesn't generally view himself as a screwup or unwanted, and that he is more wilful than his preincarnation. This sounds to us like he has solid self-confidence and self-worth.
At the same time you emphasize that he apologises a lot, presents a façade to the world to please people that differs significantly from what he is inside, and very quickly aborts his actions to apologise and "fix it" if the other person seems to disagree. That sounds to us like he isn't particularly self-confident and doesn't put much worth in himself.
So right now we're a bit confused about Runar's personality and thus ask you to write a paragraph or more explaining to us how those two sides of him go together.
