Application
During the month of April, there is a simplified application form. Please use this form instead:
- Please consult the guide to the application to learn more about what we are looking for!
- Please make sure that nobody else has reserved the character you are wishing to apply for before posting your application.
- Please put Pre-Incarnation Name | Canon | Reserved/Unreserved in the subject line when commenting to this post with your application.
- Please use common sense when it comes to the length of your application. We reserve the right to ask for revisions based on length alone. As a guideline (not a hard rule, as we understand that sometimes people just have stupid amounts of powers or issues), please try to have your app without the canon history section and the samples not exceed 4000 words (+3000 words per additional combo character).
- If you wish to apply for two or more characters in the same character slot, please request approval for the combo app before going ahead with the actual application. To do this, please respond to this post with the combo app request form below.
- If you are reapplying for a character that you used to have in this game and wish to not change anything about the application, please use the reapplication form below.
- Our applications are processed as soon as possible. This means that they might be processed out of order, depending on such factors as levels of canon familiarity and when the mod who is canon familiar is available. Please be patient; do however feel free to contact us if it has been a week since you posted it and it hasn't been processed yet.
- Lastly, please don't be discouraged by revisions! Due to the AU portion and the regain menchanism of the setting, they are a very frequent thing and don't mean that you fail as a player or we don't want you.

Age: Age at the end of their canon appearance. If apparent age and chronological age differ, please name both.

Appearance: A concise description or link to an image will do.
History: What happened to your character in their canon? We require a history covering both events directly concerning your character and a brief explanation of any jargon relevant to them. Headcanon should be marked as such by writing it in italics. You may also provide a brief summary of your character's history to show how you understand their role in canon in your own words and then attach a link that goes more in depth. Bullet points are acceptable. If your character is an original character, please outline the world they live in as well.

Appearance: If they look the same as their preincarnation, simply say so. If there are any phsycial changes, please list them, and if there are major changes (such as a humanization), please provide a concise description or link to an image.
History: What happened to your character that got them to this point in their normal, human life? While a lot of information isn't necessary here, please give us a clear picture of who they are now, how they became that way, and where they'll be headed in the context of the game.
First Echo: What caused their first Echo, and what did it give them? Please keep in mind that a first echo, like any echo, must describe a first experience (unless it is a plot echo). In addition, we always want to hear the answer to three questions from you: 1. What was echoed? 2. What triggered the echo? 3. Why did it trigger the echo? So: "They echoed [describe memory/item/ability... and say what echo type it is] because they experienced [describe experience] for the first time and that resembled their former life [describe the resemblance that has to have been relevant to whatever is being echoed]." If you're unsure if the first Echo you have in mind for your character is workable, please, feel free to consult a mod, either directly or on the F.A.Q.!
PERSONALITY
Pre-Incarnation Personality: What sort of person were they in their past life? As with their history, headcanon should be clearly labelled or marked in italics. This section is important, as it helps us gauge your grasp on the character, so spare no expense here.
Any differences?: You are encouraged to deviate from the original personality in three or four major ways, made to make their personality logical to the setting and their new history (which, by default, varies from their original life). If the personality does not differentiate significantly, or if the differences do not make sense given the rest of your app, revisions may be asked for.
Abilities: What abilities did your character's pre-incarnation have? To what extent were they used, and what limitations did they have? Include any equipment they had access to and any skills they had. Headcanon should be indicated or marked, as before! You may write a brief synopsis and link to a more detailed resource if you wish. Favor conciseness here, and try to limit (or else otherwise elaborate upon) canon terminology to avoid confusion. Bullet points are mandatory for this section.
ROLEPLAY SAMPLES
- 3rd person/action: Some form of extended, third-person piece using prose or brackets. The emphasis should be on the correlation between external actions and internal feelings and thoughts. Describe to us the inner workings of the character and how they translate into their words and actions.
- 1st person/network: For this sample, we want to hear the character as they would present themselves before others: On the network, in a letter, on social media, while giving a speech... You may use text, video or audio. Here, we want to hear your character talking (or writing).
- The samples must exhibit a strong voice and key behaviours of your character. If the voice is weak or the characterization appears to be off, revisions may be asked for.
- One of the samples (of your choice) must be done from the perspective of the reincarnated character, set within the game, while the other must be portraying the original character.
- You may write up a sample or link to a thread. If you link a thread, please make sure that it is sufficiently long/bulky to give us an idea of how you play your character. We will ask for additions if we feel that it is insufficient. If you are unsure about the length/bulk of your sample thread, feel free to link up to two additional threads.
